Introducing AI Payee Agents

We’re excited to introduce AI Payee Agents, a major step forward in making compensation easier to understand for reps, managers, and admins.

AI Payee Agents bring instant, reliable explanations directly into plan documents and payout statements—eliminating the guesswork that typically surrounds commissions.

Plan Doc Explainer Agent

Plan Docs Explainer interprets your full compensation plan and answers questions such as:

  • How are quotas and targets defined?
  • When do accelerators apply?
  • What exceptions or eligibility rules matter for me?
  • How does a specific clause or policy affect my payout?

It translates dense plan language into clear, actionable explanations reps can trust.

Statement Explainer Agent

Statement Explainer analyzes payout statements and:

  • Performs and validates calculations
  • Double-checks math for accuracy
  • Highlights the primary drivers of earnings
  • Flags areas that may require review or attention

Together, these tools become the first place reps and managers turn for answers—reducing confusion, eliminating back-and-forth, and dramatically cutting the volume of clarifying tickets for admins.

Both agents operate natively within the existing CaptivateIQ experience, so there’s no need to jump between systems or channels.

These capabilities are currently available via waitlist only. To join the waitlist, please contact your CSM.

Sub-Resource Access Controls

We’ve introduced Sub-Resource Access Controls to give admins more precise control over who can access specific worksheets, connectors, global attributes, and period groups.

These granular permissions help organizations maintain clean, scalable setups—especially in larger or more distributed environments.

Payee Landing Page Improvements

The Payee Landing Page now features:

  • A refreshed layout
  • Updated visual design
  • Reorganized sections
  • New summary insights

Reps and managers can now navigate faster and get clearer visibility into earnings, performance, and upcoming payouts.

This feature is currently in beta. Customers can enable these features by contacting their CSM or by emailing support@captivateiq.com

Automated Plan Assignments

Automated Plan Assignments streamline how payees are mapped to compensation plans. Using employee attributes, CaptivateIQ automatically assigns payees, tracks assignment history, and flags cases that fall outside expected criteria.

This reduces manual work for admins and helps ensure accurate, compliant plan assignment. The feature is in beta and available by request through your CSM.

Worksheet Groupings for Calc Workbook

To improve navigation within large calculation models, admins can now organize worksheets into collapsible groups.

Worksheet Groupings make complex workbooks easier to scan and maintain. If you do not already see “New Group” as an option when adding new elements to a calculation workbook, enabling the feature may require a sandbox sync; your CSM can guide you through the setup.

Sales Planning Enhancements

We continue to strengthen our planning product with updates that make planning faster, more accurate, and more connected across your revenue operations.

Unlike ICM, Planning features follow a continuous release model, updates go live as they are completed, and all features included in this newsletter are now available to all customers.

Smarter, Connected Workflows

We’re investing in deeper workflows between Sales Performance Management (SPM) and Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) so teams can design, simulate, and operationalize plans with less manual work and fewer data handoffs.

Better Territory & Quota Design

Upcoming improvements focus on:

  • More intelligent optimization for territory balancing
  • Faster iteration during quota design
  • Conditional formatting to highlight outliers, anomalies, and data quality issues

These upgrades help teams spot problems earlier and make better decisions with greater confidence.

More Powerful Modeling, Without the Spreadsheet Wrestling

Behind the scenes, we’ve enhanced the planning modeling engine with:

  • Multi-key property worksheets for richer, more flexible logic
This allows users to create compound keys (e.g., “Role × Segment × Region”) without manually concatenating fields.
  • Cross-sheet, context-aware formulas that reduce duplication
Formulas now automatically reference the right values across worksheets without requiring vlookups or repeated imports.
  • Performance improvements for large datasets and complex structures

The result: teams can model the business the way they actually run it without battling fragile spreadsheets or rebuilding workbooks each cycle.
